Blue Devils nation got a real treat on Friday night for the first time in six years.

Longtime rival Bowdon fell to Bremen in the season opener at home in a 38-19 win over the Red Devils across the county line to start off 2026’s campaign with a win. And also watching senior Eli Brock have a big game as well.

Brock went 12 for 18 and 327 yards with three touchdowns and gave up no picks against the Red Devil defense in the victory on Friday night.

Sophomore Tavares Baxley added 83 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown, and junior Jett Patterson added 87 receiving yards and a touchdown as well.

The Blue Devils will be back in action this coming Friday for their second rivalry game of the season at Haralson County in Tallapoosa for the 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

Both the Blue Devils and the Rebels will enter the game both at 1-0 after Haralson defeated Sardis in the season opener on Friday. They’ll play one more non-region game at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe on September 4 before entering the 6-AA region schedule with an opener at home facing Mt. Zion Carroll.
