Hiram got traveled for their playoff game on Friday night, but it was their final outing of the 2025 season as they ended 1-and-done against M.L. King in a 47-23 loss in the opening round in Class 4A.
The Hornets were able to take a lead in the opening quarter, but the Lions took a 26-7 run in the second quarter and remained ahead through the rest of the game.
M.L. King added 14 to Hiram’s 9 in the third quarter and kept the Hornets off the scoreboard in the fourth to take the win.
Full stats for the Hornets weren’t available at time of writing for the season-ending loss.
Hiram finished their season on a strong note, going 4-2 in region play after a losing skid through non-region games that put them at 5-6 overall on the year.
The Hornets are moving up to Class 6A this coming 2026 season and will be in a new region that features two other local rivals: East Paulding and South Paulding.
