State champs Trey Luke and Neyland Hulsey are heading off to college after they graduate to play ball, and they’ll be staying in state.
Rockmart High School celebrated the pair for a signing day ceremony this morning as Luke and Hulsey announced their intentions of where they’ll play after graduation.
Luke is headed off to the University of North Georgia – joining many former alum to play for the Nighthawks baseball program. The lefty who also plays center field will be heading to a UNG squad that finished over .700 with a 41-17 record, making it to the Division II Southeast Regionals before falling in their fourth outing to Lenoir-Rhyne.
Hulsey will be playing for Piedmont University starting with the 2027 season as a new Lion.
The catcher who also plays first and third base when needed will be joining a Piedmont squad that when he gets to take the mound in 2027 that went 27-15 this past season, finishing over .600 and made it to the Collegiate Conference of the South Tournament where they played three games before being knocked out by Maryville College.
Both 2025 State Champ baseball players will finish off their senior seasons with the Class of 2026 at Rockmart with an opportunity to push for another ring before their high school careers close out in May.
