The Raiders will have to try again next season to punch their way into the playoffs, because this year they got scratched out by the Panthers as Langston Hughes continues an undefeated season into the next round, and East Paulding packed up their season and went home.
The Panthers routed the Raiders in the opening round of the Class 5A playoffs in a 45-28 road loss that despite the scoreboard saw East Paulding put up some decent numbers to finish their season.
Bode Spence went 17-for-35 in the air and threw for two touchdowns on the night, but gave up a pick. Spence also had a score on the ground alongside Philantae Lumpkin in the road trip.
Jaymon Harris and Jaylen Prater both added a touchdown apiece from Spence.
Harris ended the night with 4 receptions for 67 yards and Prater had 3 grabs for 58 yards.
East Paulding still ended their season overall on top, finishing above .500 with a 6-5 record and finishing 4-3 in Region 5-5A, gaining a fourth seed spot in the playoffs for their third season in a row.
The Raiders move up to 6A next year with the start of the 2026 football season, in a similar region to the one they currently inhabit.
