How ’bout them Rockmart Lady Jackets? They took a big win over KIPP Atlanta to advance in the Class AA tournament, and then had another reason to celebrate.
Madi Sanders was named the Region 7-AA Player of the Year for the third time in a row, making her bar-none one of the top players in the state.
Sanders is also on the 1st Team All-Region list, and the All Academic Team for 7-AA as well.
The slugger is joined by Bri Davis, Ny’Asia Darden and Camari Peek in all-region first team honors.
Claira Lanier, Piper Ozment, Abi Teems also made second team.
Honorable mentions this season included Adyson Shelton, MaryKate Dunn and Madalyn Hensley.
The All-Academic team members included Davis, Lanier, Dunn, Sanders, Tracey Massey and Kylie Hicks.
