SOFTBALL: Cedartown moves to 2-0 after region opening shutout

The Cedartown Lady Bulldogs opened region play with a shutout on Tuesday to gain their second victory on the young season.

Their trip to Southeast Whitfield to play the Lady Raiders ended with a 5-0 shutout, keeping their region foes on the ropes through a full seven innings and only gave up a single hit during the evening matchup.

Cedartown took the lead in the first and took three runs, then added a run in the second and third and sped through the rest of the game to finish off the Lady Raiders in an 11-hit performance.

Full stats weren’t available for Tuesday’s game at time of writing.

Cedartown is back in action on hosting their first home stand on Thursday evening against region foe Woodland. They’ll host Armuchee on Monday and Hiram on Tuesday on the schedule following a weekend off.

The 2-0 Lady Bulldogs are tied with the victory for first place with Cartersville in region standings.
